{Flora}

Honestly, outside of weddings and all other types of shoots, my first and foremost love stems from flowers/plants.

I mean, I started taking photos based off the flowers and plants I saw my mom’s gardens.

AND they’re the inspiration for my future tattoo.

There’s a lot of beauty in the world, and I really do feel that people pass it by a little too often.

Here’s a few more that I’ve taken since spring has {finally} sprung.

(If you want prints, head over to my website to send me a request!)

Straub Maternity Preview! {Plus a little something to read!}

Hey ya’ll!

{like that? My summers always seem to revolve around country music. I don’t even live in the country!}  -> and I want you to know that this is the THIRD TIME I’ve written this. I don’t know what button I’ve been pushing, but it deletes my post every single stinking time!

One of my favorite things about having a photography business is all the wonderful people that I get to meet. Seriously. I say this all the time, I know. But I can never get over it. Ask AJ. After every session I come home and tell him what happened during the shoot whether he wants to hear about it or not. It’s just a wonderful feeling.

I just recently gotten the opportunity to photograph Corrine’s maternity session with her husband…I know Corinne through the dermatologists office that I go to to get my hair zapped. {I’m not perfect…and I have SUPER DARK hair. So I get my upper lip and chin zapped with a heat laser to reduce the growth and ultimately stop it. AND IT WORKS. My mom gets the same thing done too. Like mother like daughter I suppose!} And I just fell in love with how wonderful they are. Her husband is awesome, and she’s ALWAYS been so awesome and so stunning it’s just not fair. They’re going to be AWESOME parents, and I can’t wait for their little girl to be born. I’m taking pictures of her too :]

{Now for something completely different}

I wanted to say a little something to all my wonderful readers. First of all, THANK YOU for reading and following my blog/photography. It means a lot to me. A lot a lot. And I want to extend an idea out to all of you…I’m not completely tied down to doing photography in Fort Wayne Indiana. {I can travel!} If you wanted to do a session with me, advertise my work on your facebook, your email, or workplace, your mommy groups, however you want to do it. I would be more than happy to travel to where you are to take photos for you! I just need to schedule multiple sessions a day (or two days worth) so that I can compensate for the gas that I’l be using (depending on where you are).

I photograph weddings too! Know someone getting married? I think this year, we ALL know someone who’s getting married. I have three weddings to shoot starting in July! If you know someone who’s hunting for a reasonable photographer, by all means, send them to my blog to take a peek at my work. After July I’ll have more examples of my wedding photography to view. I’m not asking you to definitely book me, but at least show them so they can have another option. Photographers are expensive. I specifically priced my sessions the way I do because of how expensive photographers are, and I don’t think it’s fair with all the unemployment.

{I LOVE shooting weddings. They’re my favorite}

Now, how about some maternity previews?

m i c h i g a n #1

Oh hi!

So last weekend, guess what I did? I went to Traverse City Michigan with Aj and his best friends from high school…and it was such a fabulous weekend, I seriously was so sad to come home. If there are two places I can go that causes me to want to stay; they are New York and Michigan. Seriously. For real.

Though, getting there was a whirlwind….AND Vyas totally forgot that it was this past weekend, so he and the boys didn’t get there until Saturday. I can’t complain getting that HUGE hotel room to just Aj and I. Cozy, quiet and roomy. Friday ended up being date night for AJ and I. Bless his heart…he was so tired…why? Well, he flew back into Fort Wayne on Friday morning from a work thing, running on very little sleep, then we hopped in the car and drove five hours north. What a trooper right? He’s amazing. I don’t think I tell him enough.

It was too much fun. Michigan is just gorgeous and GREEN. The weather was stunning {though a little chilly}, the wine is just superb, and the people are just so nice. Loved every minute being there. What would have made the trip better is if it was warm enough to spend time at the beach and get the guys playing in the water for epic water pictures…but, there will be another trip up there later this summer, so there’s still time :]

Since it was a nice long weekend, I definitely took a ton of pictures. Have a looksie!

There’s so many wonderful restaurants in Traverse City. Downtown is stunning and gorgeous. It’s clean. Fabulous atmosphere. Then when you head up to Leelanau, oh the wine! Chateau Fontain is still my favorite winery there to this day. The lake is just beautiful. I could go on.

But instead I’ll leave you here…lots of things coming up in the next few weeks; keep your eyes out for another engagement session, a few family sessions, a couple of maternity sessions,{hopefully} a meet the sibling session+family, and HOPEFULLY a birthing session. All this to fit in before July wedding craziness happens? Yeah. This is a whole new meaning of busy.

And S O M E H O W  I’m going to plan a second winery trip for a BUNCH more people. Oi.

Oh, where are you spring?

These past couple of months have been the W O R S T.

Seriously.

My classroom of 2 year olds have cabin fever. I have cabin fever. My mother has cabin fever. And I’m pretty sure AJ has a little cabin fever too.

For me, what I miss the most is being able to take pictures outside and explore. Take as long as needed….not as long as you can stand  without crying or shaking uncontrollably. And be able to take pictures without freezing your hands off {I know I know, I should wear gloves. They just get in the way!}.

Nevertheless, some people {including myself} brave the cold and we suffer as long as we can possibly stand before someone breaks down says “I’m cold.”. Which certainly happened at my most recent session in downtown Fort Wayne. I felt so bad too, because when we were inside the Botanical Conservatory, the sun was out and it felt decent outside. By the time we headed out to roam the allies, the sun disappeared and it felt as cold as the weatherman said it would. Miserable right? Its okay, we got a ton of adorable pictures :]

This weekend {and yes I mean THIS coming weekend} I’ve got a lot planned! A few DIY’s via pinterest, a couple of classy photo sessions with a really good long time friend and myself, a little boozing, cooking. It’s going to be an artsy craftsy weekend, and I simply cannot wait! It’ll help pass the time while AJ is out and about doing important things {but boy will I sure miss him!}. Keep your eyes peeled, there will be a few blog sessions coming your way!

Theta Tau Formal and Bushkill Falls

So, this past April AJ invited me to his fraternity spring formal with him.

This was the very first time I was going to meet people he spent so much time with in New York. Yeah, I was a bit petrified. Especially since you know, frats party a lot, and they party h a r d . I hadn’t really drank since I turned 21, needless to say I was a little rusty and apprehensive.

But holy moly, was it  f u n.

We stayed in really nice condo type houses, went to a dance with a free open bar, then went back and virtually trashed a few of the condo things. I was tackled across the room onto a couch full of people. People were trying to pull themselves up onto the loft via balcony inside. People were climbing onto the roofs and taking off screen doors. Oh goodness, I would do it again in a heart beat!

Here’s a few pictures from that weekend!

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageLast but not least, here’s a picture of AJ and I all dressed up before the formal!

(NOTE: I’ve lost over 20 pounds since this photo was taken. AJ has lost weight too!)

Flora

My mother has a hobby: plants.

Of all kinds.

AND it’s a little ridiculous.

But I love it. The yard and the house may be a jungle, yet I wouldn’t have it any other way. These plants are what started me on photography over 6 years ago, and I’m still in love with them. ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage
